Phthalo Turquoise is in the color range between phthalo blue and phthalo green and has a unique, blue-green hue. Since the pigment is difficult to work with, it is only recommended for watercolor and oil. The pigment has very poor wettability and must be rubbed carefully to work it into the binder. When this is done, it tends to stick together on the plate or in the rubbing tray to form a dark, black-green mass. One can only counteract this to a limited extent by adding fillers such as champagne chalk or the finest glass powder. In acrylic or tempera, the color tone is dark green. In watercolor, this pigment develops its full luminosity and a hue ranging from dark green to turquoise. It is best to rub it directly with Kremer watercolor painting medium. In oil, Phthalo Turquoise must be carefully rubbed on, it dries only slowly, the color tone varies here from almost black in opaque to bright turquoise in glazed color application.

Color mixer is an experimental feature using Mixbox: Pigment-Based Color Mixing. (Mixing within the sRGB gamut, assuming the colors were opaque colors.)Color mixer is an experimental feature using the paints' spectral curves, measured on masstone to predict the mixing path, assuming the paints were opaque.
